Succesful Smart Tourism Skills Development Workshop #1 took place in wonderful Ljubljana from 28th till 30th of November, 2023. More than 30 participants from Austria, Bulgaria, Poland Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia took actively participated in the event.This workshop was a part of the transnational Erasmus + SMARTOUR project and was organised by the Slovenian Project Partner – Zavod novi turizem in cooperation with Project Leader – Matej Bel University.
During this interactive 3-day event project tourism experts shared insights on such elements of Smart tourism as: Accessibility, Sustainability, Digitalisation, Cultural Heritage & Creativity, Cooperation & Marketing in tourism. They presented a lot of illustrative case studies and the laterst information about smart tourism.
In addition, Ljubjana is the European Smart Tourism Capital 2016, therefore could present a lot of smart tourism initiatives to the interested learners and partners of the SMARTOUR project. Beside the history and attractions of Ljublajna, participants learnt about smart solutions regarding transport, waste management, marketing, accomodation and digitalization in tourism. Furthermore, Ljublana municipality presented tourism data collection and analyis practicies.
It was also a possibility to learn about sustainable parcicies in the hospitality sector. Participants also visited an art gallery that arose from a revitalized sugar refinery.
Project consortium received a valuable and detailed feedback from the workshop partcipants as well as quality assesment recomendations, which will be considered for the project final Course Materials development.
Inspired particpants received Certificates confirming their participation in the Workshop and are looking forward for project following events.
